Visual Culture and Interruption in Global Cities May 9-10, 2013

Round table discussion

This AHRC-NWO research network, which Christoph Lindner is leading together with Shirley Jordan at Queen Mary, University of London, brings together an international team of interdisciplinary scholars to address the relationship between globalization and cities. The focus is on the ways in which visual culture (ranging from photography, film and mixed media works to architecture and design) strategically intervenes in contemporary urban spaces and communities to interrupt processes and conditions of globalization. In addition to working on publication projects, they are also organizing public workshops in New York (May 2013) and in London (May 2014).
